The Tour is a shared tour. There is a minimum of two registered people for the Tour to the opened. And we set a maximum of 12 participants. The average number of participants in the tours is between 4 and 8 people. Sometimes the tours have only 2 people and become private tours. In extremely high season (the last week of December and the first week of January) we may accept an extra couple if they cannot take the tour on any other day.
If your party if a large party, and you request the tour with enough anticipation, you may be able to secure a Private Tour for your group.

The Tour is generally offered Sundays thru Fridays, from 9 AM to 3 PM. It is not offered on Shabbat.

The tour can be 4-hours long (from 9 AM to 1 PM) or 6-hours long (from 9 AM to 3 PM). We always ask people to please allow for an extra-hour, just in case we need it!

Unfortunately, because the tours are generally shared tours and they have a set order and structure, we do not generally offer shorter tours. Because of the character of the tour, people generally feel that the tour flies and sometimes they don´t want it to end but wish it lasted longer!

Yes, pick up time from your place (hotel, apartment or cruise-ship terminal at the port) will be some time between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM, depending on the location of your place. The 4-hour Tours ends in Once. In the Extended 6-hour Tour, we bring you back to your place at the end of the Tour. If location and time allow, at the end of the Tour we can drop you off at the place of your next activity.

The Tour is done partly walking and partly with transportation.

When we are in Plaza de Mayo, we walk around the Plaza and around one of its adjacent blocks, we sit in benches and/or stand for short periods of time. Of course, we always try to attend to people´s physical needs during the Tour. If you have particular physical or health needs you need to be attended to during the Tour, please advise us before the Tour.

When we are in the Jewish neighborhood of Once, we generally walk a couple of blocks –to see the Jewish stores and to walk between the AMIA and the Kosher restaurant.

Generally (when there are 4 or more people registered for the Tour) we have an air-conditioned van with a private driver.

If there are only two people in the Tour, we manage with taxis to move around neighborhoods.

The first part of the Tour of Jewish Buenos Aires is done in Plaza de Mayo, which is often part of general city tours as well. However, the general city tours generally spend little time in Plaza de Mayo and only give you a very general overview of it. What we learn in Plaza de Mayo in the Tour of Jewish Buenos Aires is a major and essential part of our tour –some people say it is the “soul” of the tour !– and we cover the Plaza in very great depth and in a very unique way, from a Jewish perspective, that is not done in any of the general city tours. If you are doing a private tour of the city on your own, our recommendation is for you to tell the guide of the general city tour NOT to cover Plaza de Mayo, as we cover it in depth on our tour! Still, again, if you do cover Plaza de Mayo in a general tour, do not worry about duplication.

The Tour is primarily geared to adults, and one should always take it into account that the tours are generally shared with other adults. Many times, teenagers have participated in the Tour, and they have enjoyed it tremendously. And sometimes, even younger children have participated and enjoyed the Tour very much as well. We leave it always up to the parents to decide if they think the Tour will be good for their kids.

Yes, you definitely need to bring original copies of your passport (NOT COPIES) for the tour, in order to be able to enter the sites we visit. 

No, there is no special clothing requirement in the tour. But we do recommend for you to pay special attention to wearing clothing suitable for the weather of the particular day of the Tour. In the summer time to cover your head from the sun and in the winter to wear warm clothes because of the cold.

The price of the Tour covers the guide fee, the cost of transportation and tzedakah for the Libertad Street  synagogue, the Jewish Museum and the Holocaust Museum, when these are open. The cost of Lunch is not covered in the price. The price of lunch is generally around USD $ 15 per person. The Kosher restaurant does not accept credit cards. It does accept Argentine pesos or US Dollars.

We accept the following forms of payment:

1. Cash (US Dollars or ARG Pesos at the blue dollar rate of the day), at the time of the Tour.
2. You can pay with a credit card through a PayPal Payment Request which we will send to you. There is a 10% fee for this form of payment processing.
3. Paypal to the following email address: eyattah@hotmail.com. There is a 10% fee for this form of payment  processing.

When people confirm their reservation of the Tour, we may sometimes require a 50% non-refundable  deposit through credit card or Paypal.  You can also either choose to do a full prepayment through credit card or Paypal, or to pay at the time of the Tour, either in cash (US Dollars or ARG Pesos) or with a credit card (VISA or MasterCard). When payment is done at the time of the tour, we only accept cash.

These are the most famous and best Kosher places in town:

1. Al Galope is, for locals, the most frequented Kosher Grill in town. You can order a “Parrillada”, which is a small grill they bring to you to your table, with the most traditional cuts of Argentine meat, heated with coals beneath the grill. The most famous Argentine cut is the “bife de chorizo” (sirloin strip stake). Al Galope is located in the Jewish neighborhood of Once, on Tucumán 2633. You can call them at +54-11-4863-6888 to place a reservation if you want to make sure you get a good table on a crowded day or night. If you go at night, please let your concierge in the hotel order a cab for you and ask the people at the restaurant to order a cab for you to take you back to the hotel. 2. Glitter Restaurant. This is a very upscale, top-of-the-line Kosher restaurant located inside the Alvear Icon Hotel, on Aimè Painè 1130, in Puerto Madero. They are open Monday thru Thursday. 3. Ioki Sushi Kosher is an excellent Kosher Sushi place, across from Al Galope, in the Jewish neighborhood of Once. It is located on Tucumán 2670. 
4. Venecia. If you want to eat Kosher but not meat, try Venecia, an excellent Kosher pizzeria. They have great pizzas, pasta and cheese empanadas (called “sambusak”) and spinach “boyos” (like knishes). It is located between Ajim and Pi-chi-klin, on Tucumán 2640. There are many synagogues in BA, but our recommendation would be to choose among the following ones, based on your religious preferences and the place where you are staying:

     They have a traditional service on Fridays at 7:00 PM and on Saturdays at 9:00 AM.
